Suntra investments Ltd is licensed by Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and we are a member of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

The company has well-qualified staff members who are conversant with all issues concerning the capital market, particularly floatation and listing of various types of capital market instruments. A multi-disciplinary board of directors guides this team Suntra is an active opinion builder in the capital market. It has gained relevant experience in the privatization of state corporations through the capital market. The company works very closely with major fund managers in Kenya and maintains good relationships with the majority of the insurance companies and cooperatives in the country. Amongst our clients are the key corporate, several high net worth parties and many individual clients. Suntra is a public company, currently owned by 183 individual and corporate shareholders drawn from all parts of the country. The shareholders comprise of professional and business people, among others.

Mr. David Kinyua Waweru

Chairman

A certified public accountant and experienced management consultant with experience spanning over 30 years with various established organisations in the past and present.

He is currently Managing partner of DK Waweru & Associates, Senior accountant at Kenyatta University College, Accounts Lecturer at Kenya Institute of Administration.

He holds Directorships at Sunland Prospects Ltd, AA Insurance Brokers Ltd., Platinum Insurance Brokers Ltd. & Sunland Supplies & Services Ltd., Chairman of Miria Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Treasurer & Company Secretary of AA Kenya, Founder member and Chair of the Audit & Risk Management of AA Kenya Board.

Mr. Geoffrey Kimani Gathigi

Director

Geoffrey is a seasoned professional in Communications and Administration. His experience in the Public and Private sectors spans over twenty-five years which he served as a Marketing and Public Relations Officer and as a Procurement Officer. He proceeded on early retirement from Public Service in 2013 and partnered to establish AFS Holdings Ltd, a highly effective Debt Management Company, that provides professional services to most Financial institutions and Commercial Banks in Kenya. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication and a Master’s Degree in International Studies from the University of Nairobi. He is a Business Leader and a past Chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nairobi County.

Ms. Susan Waithira Kagundu

Director

A Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of accounting, financial management, Strategy Formulation, and Governance.

She has a wealth of experience across the Financial Services, Real Estate, Manufacturing, and Healthcare sectors in different jurisdictions in East Africa and Europe. She serves on several boards including KNCCI Nairobi County. She is a member of ICPAK, AWAK, and Women on Board.

She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from USIU, a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from CUEA, and is a CPAK

Mr. Alex Kathyindi Mulwa

Director

A finance, marketing, and communications specialist with experience spanning over 20 years in strategic marketing and communication.

Core to this role has been developing and managing the implementation of Marketing strategies, Crisis Communication, online public relations, and social media. Alex’s academic credentials include Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Commerce, a Diploma in Digital Marketing, and a Certification in Multimedia.

Currently, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Member of MSK, and PRSK, and a speaker in international forums.

Charles M. Gichuhi

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

A seasoned Consultant, Investment advisor, and Trade Finance expert with over nineteen (19) years of exceptional experience in coordinating financing functions in the Financial Industry and consultancy field. He has worked in various leading banks in Kenya including NCBA, KCB, and Family Bank. Rising from a junior position to a Head of Department both in operations (back-office) and sales (front-office) and dealing with all the various types of bank customers; that is, Individuals, Micro customers, SMEs, Corporates, and Non-Borrowing customers.

Charles is a holder of a degree in Education (Business Studies & Mathematics) from Kenyatta University and holds a CPA III section 6 certificate

Patrick Gatuba

Finance Manager

Patrick is a finance professional with over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and audit having worked in different organizations and capacities. His key responsibility includes providing financial guidance and support to clients and the company. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA K).

Patrick joined Suntra in 2018.  He has been closely involved in the company’s growth supporting the business through strategic planning and execution, systems and process development, team leadership, people development, stakeholder management, financial analysis, and reporting.

Mark Kariuki

A seasoned securities broker having served Suntra for over 13years. He has risen through the ranks from Customer service, Risk and compliance management where he acquired competent skills cutting across Customer relationship management, Research, investment advisory, marketing, salesmanship and execution of transactions (dealing).

He has been closely involved in the company’s growth, supporting the business through strategy planning and process development among many other functions.

He previously worked with Data Functions Limited in the Sales Department where He was responsible for supervising the department.

Eugene Mwai

Eugene Mwai heads the Fixed Income trading department and specializes in sourcing, pricing, trading, and advising on investments in Fixed Income securities.

He has trained various groups and organizations on fixed-income trading and analysis including the Bank of Uganda and Nairobi Securities Exchange training programs.

He has strong IT background and once headed the company’s ICT department where he was instrumental in developing the company’s stock brokerage back office. 

He is a holder of a Bachelor of Science degree (Mathematics and computer science) and has attended several courses and workshops in Capital markets and Fixed Income Investments.
